Samrat Chakrabarti holds a MFA in Acting from the ART/MXAT Program at Harvard University. His film credits include Spike Lee's She Hate Me (2004); Leonardo Ricagni's Indocumentados (2005); Jonathan Betzler's Homecoming (2005); Joseph Castelo's The War Within (2005), which was nominated for the Independent- Spirit Award; Bruce Leddy's Sing Now (2006) starring Molly Shannon; Anjaan Dutt's The Bong Connection (2006) co-starring Victor Banerjee; Raj Basu's Piyalir Password (2006); Manish Acharya's Loins of Punjab of Presents (2007) co-starring Shabana Azmi; Manan Katahora's When Kiran Met Karen (2008) and Amyn Kaderali's Kissing Cousins (2008). Samrat's upcoming features include Ajay Naidu's Ashes and Sarba Das's Karma Calling co-starring Darshan Jariwala. Samrat has also made several guest appearances on television shows like Law And Order (NBC), The Sopranos (HBO), Love Monkey (CBS) and Hope and Faith (ABC). His stage roles include Nirad Das in Indian Ink at The Missouri Repertory Theater and Arun in Lingering Voices at the 2004 Edinburgh Fringe Festival. Samrat is also an established international musician and has won numerous awards for his music, including: a U.S. CARA for Best Original Pop/Rock Song, for his composition, What's It all About.
